She thinks my tractor's sexy...

...Kurt keeps singing this song in a southern twang and it's starting to make me twitch.

If someone had told me a few years ago that someday I'd be going tractor shopping and trading in my stilettos for rubber garden clogs I would have laughed out loud and hit them with my Dior purse.

But, in our first week of marriage, Kurt and I are doing just that. With almost 5 acres of lawn to mow, and not wanting my generous neighbor to continue doing it for us, it's time to buy our own garden tractor.

We've looked at Kubota, Cub Cadet, and Husqevarna. At first we thought we'd go with a zero-turn but now have decided against it. We're still shopping around but are leaning towards the Cub Cadet GT 2554:

Sexy, isn't it?

Wedding day...

This past Friday, May 1st, Kurt and I celebrated our marriage at the Riverstone House! It was an informal event and, because it was a bit drizzly in the morning, we held it indoors in the great room:

Afterwards, the sun came out so we took photos around our property as well:

I spent quite some time that day contemplating the many milestones that the previous residents held at my home: the births, birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, even funerals. And while I'm certainly hoping to host many celebrations here, I'm also looking forward to the smaller special occasions in life...like the kids first learning how to ride 2-wheeler bikes in the driveway, each winter's first good snowfall for building a snowman, and impromptu barbecues with friends and family...
